FREE ONLINE DATA TOOL

Checksum Generator

Generate several checksums and hashes from text, hexadecimal bytes or uploaded files. Copy individual values or download all results in a text report.

1. Select input type

Text is processed as submitted. Spaces and line endings affect the result. Empty text is allowed.

2. Choose algorithms

CRC-32 and Adler-32 are non-cryptographic checksums. SHA-256 and SHA-512 are better choices for cryptographic integrity checks.

How to use this checksum generator

  1. Choose text, hexadecimal bytes or a file.
  2. Select one or more checksum and hash algorithms.
  3. Click Generate checksums to calculate results on the server.
  4. Copy the values or download a plain-text report.

Checksum vs. cryptographic hash

Checksums such as CRC-32 are designed to detect many accidental data errors. They are fast but are not designed to resist deliberate manipulation.

Cryptographic hashes such as SHA-256 and SHA-512 provide stronger integrity verification. MD5 and SHA-1 have known collision weaknesses and should not be used when collision resistance is required.

A matching hash alone does not prove that a file is safe or authentic. Compare it with a trusted reference or verify a digital signature.

Frequently asked questions

Can I calculate multiple checksums at once?

Yes. Select several algorithms and the page will calculate a result for each one.

Can I checksum an uploaded file?

Yes. Choose File, select a file and submit the form. The page processes the uploaded contents without saving them permanently.

Why do results differ between tools?

Inputs may differ due to encoding, whitespace, line endings or different algorithm variants. For CRC algorithms, parameters must also match.

Is my uploaded file stored?

This page does not save uploads permanently. PHP temporarily handles uploaded files while processing the request.
