Las compuertas lógicas son dispositivos electrónicos que realizan operaciones lógicas en uno o más bits de entrada y producen un único bit de salida. Son fundamentales en la electrónica digital y en la construcción de circuitos y sistemas computacionales.

A continuación, veremos los tipos más comunes de compuertas lógicas:

1. Compuerta AND: Esta compuerta produce un valor de salida alto (1) únicamente si todas sus entradas son altas. Es decir, su salida es 1 solo si todas las entradas son 1.

2. Compuerta OR: La compuerta OR genera un valor de salida alto si al menos una de sus entradas es alta. Su salida es 1 si alguna de las entradas es 1.

3. Compuerta NOT: También conocida como compuerta inversora, produce una salida que es el complemento lógico de su única entrada. Es decir, si la entrada es 0, la salida es 1, y viceversa.

4. Compuerta XOR: La compuerta XOR (Exclusive OR) genera un valor de salida alto si sus entradas son diferentes. Es decir, su salida es 1 cuando una y solo una de las entradas es 1.

Estos son solo algunos ejemplos de los tipos de compuertas lógicas que existen. Existen otras como las compuertas NAND, NOR, XNOR, entre otras, que realizan operaciones lógicas más complejas.
